Software licence agreement

1.The licence

Gantt Planning grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Gantt CSS for your own business, for as long as your trial or subscription lasts. Each licence is for one named person, on up to two Windows computers at a time. You do not own the software; we keep all rights in it.

2.What you may do

• Install Gantt CSS on the computers your licence allows, and move it by signing out of one computer and into another.
• Make programmes, reports and exports for any project, including for clients, and share those files freely.
• Keep back-up copies of the installer.

3.What you may not do

• Share a sign-in or a licence between people, or use one person’s seat for another.
• Rent, sell, sublicense or lend the software, or offer it as a service to others.
• Remove or get around licence checks, copy protection or notices.
• Copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the software, except to the extent the law allows despite this term.

4.Licence checks

Gantt CSS checks its licence with our licence service when it starts and about once a day, and keeps working offline for up to 30 days between checks. A check sends a request code made from the computer’s identity (hashed, never your files), the computer name and a sign-in token. The privacy policy explains how we handle that information.

Licences issued by hand by Gantt Planning, for example for computers that never connect to the internet, follow the dates written in them.

5.Your programmes

Programme files you create are yours. They are saved on your computers or your network and are never sent to us. When a licence ends you keep your files. Gantt CSS needs a current licence to keep working, so export anything you need to P6 XER, Microsoft Project XML or Excel while it is active.

6.Updates

While your subscription runs you may install every update we release. The software tells you when an update is available. We may change or remove features, but we will not remove a core function of the Planning module during a period you have paid for.

7.Other products and formats

Gantt CSS reads and writes file formats of other scheduling products so that you can exchange programmes. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and CCS Candy are trademarks of their owners; Gantt CSS is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Some parts of Gantt CSS are open-source components, used under their own licences.

8.Warranty and liability

Gantt CSS will perform substantially as described on our website and in its help. If it does not, tell us: we will fix the fault or, if we cannot, refund the unused part of your subscription. Apart from this and the rights the law gives you, the software is provided as it is, and the limits of liability in the terms and conditions apply.

9.When the licence ends

The licence ends when your trial or subscription ends, when your seat is moved to someone else, or if it is ended for a serious breach. When it ends, stop using the software; your programme files remain yours.

10.Law

This agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
