Terms and conditions
The terms for using this website and for buying Gantt CSS subscriptions from Gantt Planning.
Draft 1 · Last updated 28 October 2026
1.About these terms
These terms apply between you and Gantt Planning ("we", "us") when you use this website, start a trial or buy a subscription to Gantt CSS. The software licence agreement sets out how you may use the software itself; the privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. By buying or starting a trial you accept all three.
If you buy for a company, you confirm that you may bind it, and "you" means the company.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act that cannot lawfully be limited.
2.Using the website
The website describes Gantt CSS as accurately as we can. Features, screens and the demonstration programme may change as the software develops. The live programme on the home page is a simplified demonstration and is not the software.
Do not misuse the website or the enquiry form, for example by sending automated or abusive messages, or by trying to break its security.
3.Subscriptions
- Gantt CSS is sold as a subscription for a named user for one year. Each user may run the software on up to two computers at a time.
- A subscription may hold several users ("seats"). The buyer assigns each seat to a person by email from the account pages and may move a seat to another person.
- The subscription and the licences it gives start when payment succeeds.
- Prices are shown on the pricing page. Prices in rand include VAT at 15%. Prices in US dollars exclude taxes, which the payment provider adds at checkout where they apply.
4.Trials
A free trial runs for 14 days on one computer, for evaluation only. One trial is allowed per email address and per computer. When a trial ends, Gantt CSS needs a subscription to keep working; programme files you made stay yours and stay on your computer.
5.Payment
Buyers in South Africa pay through Paystack; buyers elsewhere pay through Paddle, which sells to them as the seller of record under its own checkout terms. We never receive your card details.
For payments through Paystack we email a VAT invoice for every payment. Paddle issues the invoice for its sales.
6.Renewal, changes and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically every year at the price then shown, unless cancelled. We email the buyer 14 days before each renewal.
- Adding seats during the year is charged pro rata to the renewal date. Removing seats takes effect at the next renewal.
- You may cancel at any time from the account pages or by contacting us. The subscription then runs to the end of the period already paid and is not renewed.
- If a renewal payment fails, the payment provider retries it for up to 30 days and we email the buyer. If it still fails, the licences end after the paid period and a short grace period.
Refunds are covered by the cancellations, refunds and delivery policy.
7.Delivery
Gantt CSS is delivered electronically: you download the Windows installer and sign in from the software, which then receives its licence. Nothing is posted.
8.Your programmes and professional judgement
Programmes, reports and analyses you make with Gantt CSS are your work and your responsibility. The software helps you schedule and analyse; it does not replace the judgement of a competent planner. Check results before relying on them, submitting them or making claims with them, and keep your own back-ups of your files.
9.Our liability
We supply Gantt CSS with reasonable care and skill, and we will fix or work around faults we can reproduce within a reasonable time.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, delay costs or penalties under your contracts, and our total liability arising from a subscription is limited to the amount paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to loss caused by our fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow them.
10.Ending access
We may suspend or end a subscription if it is used in serious breach of these terms or the licence agreement, after telling you and giving you a reasonable chance to put it right where the breach can be put right.
11.Disputes and the law that applies
Please contact us first: most problems are solved quickly that way. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and its courts have jurisdiction. Consumers keep their right to approach the National Consumer Commission or another forum the law provides.
12.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force when you buy or renew applies to that period; we will email buyers about changes before their next renewal.
